Health Evidence Review Commission (herc) Coverage Guidance: Biomarker Tests of Cancer Tissue for Prognosis and Potential Response to Treatment

چکیده
Oncotype DX is recommended for coverage in early stage breast cancer when used to guide adjuvant chemotherapy treatment decisions for women who are lymph node negative (strong recommendation). The following genetic tests of cancer tissue are recommended for coverage (strong recommendation): BRAF gene mutation testing for melanoma Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) gene mutation testing for non-small-cell lung cancer KRAS gene mutation testing for colorectal cancer The following genetic tests of cancer tissue are not recommended for coverage (weak recommendation): Mammaprint, ImmunoHistoChemistry 4 (IHC4), and Mammostrat for breast cancer Prolaris and Oncotype DX for prostate cancer BRAF, microsatellite instability (MSI), and Oncotype DX for colorectal cancer KRAS for lung cancer Urovysion for bladder cancer Oncotype DX for lymph node-positive breast cancer The use of multiple molecular testing to select targeted cancer therapy is not recommended for coverage (weak recommendation).

The Role of Long Non-Coding RNAs in Ovarian Cancer
Background: Ovarian cancer is the most fatal tumor of female's reproductive system, and several genetics and environmental factors are involved in its development. Various studies have already identified suitable biomarkers to facilitate the early detection, prognosis evaluation, and the assessment of treatment response. However, the aim of this review was to investigate the role of long non-co...
متن کاملScenario and future prospects of microRNAs in gastric cancer: A review
Carcinoma of the stomach is one of the major prevalent and principal causes of cancer-related deaths worldwide. Current advancement in technology has improved the understanding of the pathogenesis and pathology of gastric cancers (GC). But, high mortality rates, unfavorable prognosis and lack of clinical predictive biomarkers provide an impetus to investigate novel early diagnostic/prognostic m...
متن کاملClinical Significance of Salivary Biomarkers in Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma: A Review
Background and Aim: Oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) accounts for approximately 3% of all cancers worldwide, and if diagnosed early, it has a five-year survival rate of around 85%; however, a late diagnosis may decrease the survival rate to 50%. Aberrant expression of several genes is associated with the hallmarks of OSCC including uncontrolled cell proliferation, poor differentiation, invas...
متن کاملUpregulation of HOTAIR Transcript Level in Tumor Tissue of Iranian Women with Breast Cancer
Background:Dysregulation of HOX Transcript Antisense Intergenic RNA (HOTAIR) has been linked to the etiopathogenesis of several human cancers. According to epidemiological evidences, the risk of susceptibility to breast cancer varies among different populations. This study was designed to determine the transcriptional level of HOTAIR in tumor cells of breast cancer pat...
متن کاملA review on miRNAs as new biomarkers for colorectal cancer
Background & Objective: Since colorectal cancer does not often have phenotypic symptoms in the early stages, the study of biomarkers for the diagnosis and prognosis of the tumor is very important. MicroRNAs are one of the most important biomarkers which attract the attention of many researchers due to a variety of reasons, including their non-invasive nature; these molecules are a group of non-...
